Honesty, Integrity & Experience

My name is PeteTheHandyman as you might of already guessed 😉 It all started in Sussex some 30 years ago when my wife & I decided to buy a derelict 15 century cottage, we didn’t have a lot of money, so I set about restoring this beautiful old house (once thatched, but lost it’s roof in the 80’s hurricane, remember that!) it was a labour of love, and there really was blood sweat & tears, but learning on the job was essential. I already had a love of wood, so replacing parts of the house with oak beams was very enjoyable, but plumbing, plastering and electrics had to be learnt the hard way.

I was working in a different industry then, so I could only work on the house part-time, whilst still trying to live there. It was tough but the experience was invaluable and not lost as I still carry valuable lessons with me to this day.

Several houses later and a move to Somerset (yet another project, still ongoing!) My wife persuaded me to take this up full time, it’s started small with some local neighbours and has grown year on year, all down to word of mouth and I love it. I found that I could learn just about anything including building this website, but that’s another story!
